Studio West recently ran a dialogue looping session with San Diego resident and Studio West regular Alan Arkin for a new film-in-the-making, Going In Style, directed by Zach Braff.
Arkin, who won an Academy Award for his role as Edwin, the foul-mouthed grandfather in Little Miss Sunshine, will star in the film with legends Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman (recently chosen in a British poll as having the sexiest accent in America). Going In Style is a remake of a 1979 original starring George Burns, Art Carney, and Lee Strasburg, and features three crabby senior citizens who are short on funds and who decide to rob a bank. The original film included scenes from the famous Aladdin Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
For the session, Zach Braff directed Arkin over an ISDN line, for about 35 ADR cues (ADR stands for automated dialog replacement).
Going In Style is scheduled to be released on April 7, 2017.
