In January 2006 we completed the expansion of Studio West with one goal in mind: to enable our clients to achieve their full creative potential in an efficient and comfortable working environment.

Our staff and our studios are uniquely equipped to meet your specific needs. Whether it be music recording, mixing, or mastering, film scoring, spoken word or voiceover, audio post and sound design, or ADR to picture for TV and film, rest assured that we can take your project from start to finish, in a timely manner, in our state of the art facility.

Studio A
A 2000 sq ft studio with 24 ft ceilings, Studio A features an SSL 4064 console, Pro Tools HD-6 Accel system. With three separate Iso booths and a huge array of classic vintage and the latest digital gear, it is ideally suited for tracking live bands, large choirs or orchestras. Musicians love our Yamaha C-7 Concert Grand Piano, and the array of instruments and amps on hand. The SSL4064 console coupled with a vintage Neve BCM 10 sidecar is favorite combination of many of the top mix engineers in the industry and listening to your tracks playing back through the mighty Meyer X-10 monitors (with matching subs) is about as good as it gets.

Studio B
This room underwent a dramatic transformation in the 3rd quarter of 2009. It was completely overhauled and restored to the state intended by the original acoustic designer (George Augspurger) - with some 21st Century updates. This room builds on Studio West's reputation for excellence but with an eye firmly on the future. It sounds, and looks awesome! Featuring state-of-the-art equipment, this Mac Pro based Pro Tools HD6 system is the only DControl (32-Fader ICON) equipped commercial studio in San Diego County. All new classic outboard gear is complimented by a sofit-mounted surround monitoring system, and all new wiring and patch-bays finish off the behind-the-scenes infrastructure. With a freshly remodeled and cushy Iso booth, Studio B is nicely equipped to handle your project from start to finish when you don't need the large rooms of Studio A found across the hall.

Studio C

Converted into a Studio back in 2006, Studio C will be recognizable to old Studio West clients as the space that once was the break room and surrounding offices. Stripped down to the concrete in December of 2009, Studio C has been transformed once again. It is now a warm toned, vibey and creative space ideally suited to ADR, voiceover, ISDN, single instrument or vocal tracking, phone patches and digital mixing. The isolation booth has been completely remodeled with new acoustic treatments improving the sound and feel immensely. New flooring, lighting and fresh paint give the space a creative edge not easily found in San Diego.

On the technical side, a Mac Pro based Pro Tools HD5 system well equipped with plug-ins from top manufacturers anchors the room. Simple, sleek and powerful - the 8-fader DCommand at the center of room provides all the hands-on control you need for controlling Pro Tools, along with complete stereo and surround mixing capabilities. The 42" Flat panel at the front of the room makes for easy viewing of your mix or ADR to picture.

At 20ftx16ft, the control room boasts plenty of working space along with comfortable accommodations for producers and artists towards the back of the room. Singer-songwriters enjoy the relaxed vibe of this space and we have all the technology and expertise in-house to master your finished project right here in Studio C.

Edit Suite 1
This small suite offers an affordable environment for simple editing and mixing. As well, file management, tape transfers, archiving and software format transfers can be done here when your project does not require the more expensive studio rooms.

Edit Suite 2

Comfortable for groups of two to four, Edit 2 is a slightly larger version of Edit 1. Based around a Pro Tools HD3 system, this suite can be patched into the Iso-Booths of both Studio B and Studio C. With a closed-circuit TV connection to both booths, this room is another affordable alternative for off-line tracking, editing and mixing.

Remote Recording
We are happy to offer affordable location recording services to clients wishing to record remotely in the San Diego area. Our Pro Tools based mobile recording set-ups are scalable to suit any size project and are operated by experienced engineers.
