In January 2006 we completed the expansion of
Studio West with one goal in mind: to enable our clients to achieve their full creative potential in an efficient and comfortable working environment.
Our staff and our studios are uniquely equipped to meet your specific needs. Whether it be film scoring, spoken word audio, music production, TV or multimedia content, rest assured that we can take your project from start to finish, in a timely manner, in our state of the art facility.
Studio A
A 2000 sq ft studio with 24 ft ceilings, Studio A features an SSL 4064 console, Pro Tools HD-3 Accel system, three separate Iso booths and a huge array of classic vintage and the latest digital gear. It is ideally suited for tracking the band live and recording large choirs or orchestras. Musicians love our Yamaha C-7 Concert Grand Piano, DW and Sonor Drum Kits, and the large array of other instruments and amps on hand. The recently installed SSL4064 console is favored by many of the top mix engineers in the industry. And listening to your tracks playing back through the mighty Meyer X-10 monitors (with matching subs) is about as good as it gets.
Studio B
This room has recently undergone the most dramatic transformation of any of our studios. It's been completely overhauled and restored to the state intended by the original acoustic designers with some 21st Century updates. This room builds on Studio West's reputation for excellence but with an eye firmly on the future. It looks and sounds awesome.
We now feature state-of-the-art equipment in Studio B, including a new SSL4056 console with Ultimation, a Pro Tools HD-3 Accel system, Dynaudio Surround Monitoring system, and a completely new wiring system for the extensive array of outboard gear.
Just across the hall from Studio A, Studio B offers the first 7.1 surround capable Mix Suite in San Diego County. With a good size Iso booth, Studio B is also equipped to handle creative projects from inception to completion.
Studio C
Our newest studio will be recognizable to old Studio West clients as the area that was once the break room and surrounding offices. We've created a 20ftx16ft control room with separate Iso booth and comfortable accommodations for producers and artists. It's designed around the Digidesign Pro Control and HD-2 system with Avid Video integration and surround monitoring capabilities.
Studio C is ideally suited to ADR, Voiceover, ISDN, Spoken Word audio projects, phone patches, and digital mixing in both stereo and surround.
Singer-songwriters enjoy the relaxed vibe of this room and we have all the technology and expertise to master your projects in Studio C.
Edit Suite
This new room offers clients an affordable environment in which to complete simple mixing, file management, analog to digital transfers, audio restoration and archiving, software based editing, and software format transfers between formats such as ProTools, Nuendo, Cubase, Digital Performer and Logic.
Pre-production Suite
Clients can work on arrangement, composition and other pre-production tasks in this affordable yet professional space. The room features a wide variety of industry standard equipment including Roland V Drums, assorted synths and keyboards, and an Apple computer system with a Digidesign 002 interface. For maximum flexibility we feature a wide range of software including Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Digital Performer and many other audio applications. We even have some nice mic pre amps set up for laying down scratch vocals.
Remote Recording
We are now happy to offer affordable location recording services to clients wishing to record off site in the San Diego area. Our Pro Tools based mobile recording set-up is scalable to suit any size project and is operated by experienced engineers. We can also bring the recordings back to the studio for mixing, mastering and CD duplication.
